Wine-region of Eger
The Wine-region of Eger is the hiding-place of beauties. Its hills blessed with wonderful and matchless potentials are the birth-place of noble, fine and versatile wines.
Both the serious white and the exciting red are born here offering inimitable pleasures to the tasters and consumers of the wines of Eger.
The versatile relief is the home of vineyards having special micro-climats where grape is the most beautiful gift of the Creator.
The exciting climat, the cyclicism of warm and cold are the father of great tastes, the essence of which is supplied by the soil. The soil breeds the fruit and defines the existence of our wines forever.
St. Andrea strive to make wines with individual, regional character. We strive for good and are determined to offer values to the wine-lovers.
We have areas in several apellations of the wine-region such Paptag, Ferenchegy, Kovászó, Kiseged, Magyalos, Boldogságos, Hangács and Nagy-Eged. Our plantations feature 5-10 thousand stocks per hectar. We intend to use traditional methods in the vineyards so that we can get natural flavours.
We grow 19 different grape-varieties which means we are typically local that is ’egries’. As it was centuries ago we can find dozens of grape-varieties in the region even today.
The wines of Eger have always been made from more varieties.
St. Andrea’s estate wines follow these foot-steps: Napbor, Örökké, Rose, Akutyafáját,Áldás, Merengő.
The estate consciuosly looks for the taste of the terroir. Tastes that are peculiar to that particular piece of land and are individual…
Our wines are born in barrels as it was in the time of our grandfathers and grand-grandfathers. Barrel is the cradle of sophisticated wines.
